staring straight at a new dawn

Was growing up into a great donkey

A sweet donkey everyone sat on

And decided which direction it should go

Walking miles in heat and discomfort

Swallowing my complaints, careful to not spit them on gold diggers

Didn’t even know I’ve got places of my own to go

Finally found my path rather late

Finally found peace

Staring straight at the new dawn

No turning back to a screaming past trying to hold me back
