been wandering for years
resting under a shade
thinking back on many encounters

not all obstacles are an impediment
some are signals for detours
into better experiences
unexpected fortunes
new ways of doing, being, and seeing
that leaves one kasaking
aching, longing for more
of such obstacles
that were once occasions for grumbling
and gambling energies and faith
on mountains that won’t budge

  3. Benji, I love how “kasaking” turns longing into a verb and those stubborn mountains into unlikely travel agents, sending us toward experiences we never knew to wish for!
