with the lure to prolong my sleep
pages of discipline turn and burn
as the distant tides turn
I sleep and bleat like a comfortable sheep

drowsiness makes me blend
caution and comfort with

so much to unlearn
thought they said rest was good, especially
when the fog begins its stealth descent
years of choosing comfort over what hurts
have piled up into a stagnant life torn out of
