vulnerable creatures
reminder of what this life is all about –
reaching out
extending a hand
sad that whole families
of grandpa, grandma, Uncle T and cousins
have to be harvested
and grilled to put smiles on empty stomachs
such is life
blood has to be shed sometimes
for new life to continue
