Option 2

Taking revenge is sometimes really not worth it.

Imagine someone helps you solve a problem you’ve been carrying for years, even if you do not say to the person, “God richly bless you for your kindness,” God will still bless that individual.

I believe the same applies to carrying out atrocious deeds against others. The curses emanating from such deeds are automatic; no need to wish the perpetrator evil.

It is natural for us to wish that those who harm us reap the compounded interests on their actions.

However, a more noble act will be to pray for God’s mercy and forgiveness for such people. It’s easy for us to sketch and label every piece of evil others have committed. Very rarely do we see how ugly our subtle pride, thoughts and self righteousness are in the sight of God.

If we spent the time we use in criticizing  to pray for the objects of our criticism, what an impact we would make in the lives of so many.

But to be honest, such prayers doesn’t come easily. Sometimes you open your mouth and the hurting words people have said to you get lumped up in your throat and wouldn’t let the prayer come. But however hard it may be, we can make an effort. And in making little efforts every time, we get better at praying for the many sellouts who have no remorse for the atrocities they commit.

People’s immaturity and ingratitude are already working hard enough preparing notes and designing perfect learning environments to teach them good lessons.

Why waste time planning vengeance ? Why volunteer in a field already crowded with workers whereas fields of forgiveness and compassion are in dire need of laborers ?

There is no question that people who strike us sometimes need to be struck back and struck hard.

Bu each time our hands go up to deliver a legitimate first strike on an enemy, let’s remember there is the option to forgive.
