Confessions

I’ve learnt to laugh
At my mistakes
To share my dark moments
And downfalls
I’ve learnt to admit my flaws
And to say sorry
Even to those who offended me
No grudge
will become a stumbling block
To my growth
What is life
Without awkward moments
To reflect on and laugh
What is the essence of living
Without lonely days
To look back on and sigh
That is why I’ve made confesions
A daily habit
To my God and fellow man
An eagle cannot soar to great heights
Carrying debris under its armpits
Holding grudges and guilt
In its clutches

  1. Wonderful poem, Benjamin. I regularly review both contemporary and past poetry on my page, and I’ve written a review of your poem “Confessions.” It’s a raw and insightful piece that reflects on growth, vulnerability, and humility in a powerful way. Your ability to share personal struggles while also offering a sense of empowerment is something that really stands out.

I hope you don’t mind, but I’ve included a link to my review below. Please let me know if you’d like me to take it down for any reason. If you’re happy with it, I’d love to keep the link live.

Congratulations on your work, and I look forward to seeing more of your poetry in the future. You can find the review here.
