joyous
bursting with news
of an old friend

and how he had promised
to assist you
in your new business
True to his words
he did help you
How we laughed
and celebrated that new chapter

How disappointing it was
when we discovered his true colors
And what looked
like a new chapter
flipped many pages backwards
past previous chapters
back to we know not what

of new found love
She is the one
I was so sure
You were happy for me
Though you had your doubts
She turned out
just as we feared
