Where has she gone?
The little girl singing in the rain
Sailing in the sand
Playing in the sun
With a smile
Radiating innocence and purity

Where has it gone?
The beauty
That sons and lovers
Once flocked to see
One admirer getting a black eye
For all his troubles

Where has she gone?
The fair Lady
Face of glitz and glamour
In the cities
In the sixties
Idol of throngs of sexperts and sex pets

She’s no longer the centre of attention
The centre of attraction
She’s ceded her place
To another face
That will be replaced too, some day

Behind old walls of wrinkles
A performer
Retires
Into a passive observer

What an interesting and intriguing idea Benjamin. Love this poem and how love moves on with one face being replaced by another. Thanks for joining in.
