Patriotism ( Published at The Writers Club )

Death

In the belly of a bomber

Floating across the sky

As if contemplating

The morality of what it is about to do

Suddenly,

Rains down hell

Upon mothers and their children

And fathers returning from hunting daily bread

Brothers, sisters, and grandmothers burn up

Like piles of firewood

The screams of little children burning

Beckon their Father in Heaven

To look down and see
