never heard of a lamb
that served as a lamp
guiding the feet of men and of women 
off the paths of hell 

the prophets of old did predict
that his death will reverse the evil verdict
sin has brought upon us

if the promise of eternal life were a lie
He would not rise

and our faith would be in vain
and what we thought was grace
stemming from the resurrection 
would be a fast pace 
into retrogression

but the tiny hands of Death
cannot bind the Son of Righteousness 
nor stop the Sun of Righteousness 
from dispersing the kingdom of darkness 

He is risen
ever living
always showing up for those who keep believing
