Things are different here. I have left the city for a small town, what else could I expect?
It takes time to make new friends, and if you’re a student in a higher level of education, it’s not easy finding someone on the same mental wavelength.
There is this question of being “humble” and mingling with “ordinary people”. True, and I have had plenty of fun interacting with people I meet randomly on the streets or in the neighborhood. But there is a difference between talking to someone and connecting with them.
And there are those who have the same level of education as oneself, but the difference in the effect of the “education” is so vast. Not everyone who has been to school is really schooled. Some still have a long way to go.
But it’s life. And maybe its phases, or should I say its seasons?
When development is not uniform in a country, moving out of the city sometimes feel like moving out of a civilization for one that is decades behind… Can make you sometimes wonder if you need an interpreter to make people understand things from your perspectives.
I guess it’s a reminder of our previous selves, notification on how far we’ve come. Certainly not a reason to be complacent.
