When you’re in a dire situation
Expecting a miracle
And you receive a message
To send your details
For a money transfer
Could it be real?
You wonder
And imagine all the things you’ll do
Once that money lands in your lap
You dreamily draw a budget
Daydreaming even new clothes you’ll purchase
You wait, like special forces on a mission
For the moment, the alert
That confirms your miracle
Then comes the needle
That burst your inflated hopes
Expectations and joy
You had smelled it faintly
And now the symptoms were hard to ignore
Your intellect, emotions, and intuition
They all vetoe the decision to keep believing
It’s a scam!
And you feel insulted
For allowing yourself to be so naive
