We sometimes dream of one day making great connections, friendships that are deeply rewarding or important business contacts.
In our mind, that ideal some day will be perhaps our first trip on a plane to a new land, a special dinner or some miraculous coincidence.
We may even fantasize that during such special days we will experience some magical feeling, a certain joy inexplicable, and perhaps the weather that day will look a little close to the climate of the beginning of time when stars stood in a long parade waiting to be dispatched to their current stations.
We wait, and wait. And wait a little longer, for circumstances that may never come.
What we miss, is not our fantasies that never materialize.
What we miss, is the magic happening on a daily basis, passing us by all the time like the currents of a river, opportunities so abundant any opportunity-counting machine will jam while trying to give us figures.
The great connections we are waiting to make, the life partner we long to meet, that great friend we’ve always wished we had, is all wrapped up in the strangers that pass us by on a daily basis.
Sometimes we are not in the mood to talk to strangers, or anyone else for that matter.
Sometimes people have disappointed us too many times that we just now prefer to stay in our corner and mind our business.
Why let one idiot or some unfortunate incident stand in the way of so many good things begging and longing to burst into your room, your life, your space?
Why don’t you stay strong for yourself, by refusing to become bitter because of someone’s past attitude towards you?
Don’t let them quench that burning smile of yours that exhude warmth, hope, and a message of friendship.
It takes just one stranger to turn so many things around in your life.
You know that finding gold takes lots of digging. And in digging dirt is what comes out first, but that shouldn’t discourage you. Keep going. Keep pushing. Keep being nice to strangers.
The reward for years of efforts is usually inches from the point you have good reasons to give up.
