The further you can see into the future, the better decisions you’re able to take, and the better the quality of your planning.

Unfortunately, such a superior vision and insight into a time that has not yet come takes time to develop, sometimes requires lot of trials and failures, reading wide and the humility to seek the counsel of others.

The inability to see far has implications. We may take shortsighted decisions that results in costly mistakes. We may hold on with making key decisions, and that may mean putting a certain aspect of our lives on hold till we are wiser enough to press “play.” We may also take a gamble by preceding anyway despite being unsure whether what we are doing is the right thing or not.

The longer we contemplate on taking many decisions in life, we risk one day looking back and realizing we attached too much importance to certain things that were trivial. Life was happening all around us but we were too scared to live, missing many opportunities to truly appreciate the real essence of life.

If we develop the habit of always making rush decisions, we stand a good chance of receiving a severe beating by life which shows no partiality in serving its customers what they paid for. We may assume we were destined for failure and recoil from being ambitious in life.

If we take a gamble and it works out, it is easy to assume we were born wise and lucky, destined for greatness, and even think perhaps we will be the first among humankind to bring about some change in this world that is unheard of. We may not realize our success was a mere coincidence, and miss the chance to learn the secret ingredients that made our success taste unique.

What then are we to do?

The answer is to always live now. Never put life on hold. Never wait for next year to start anything new if it can be started today, right now. Conditions are never hundred percent perfect for starting anything but people start anyway, and get better with time.

Think carefully through important decisions and come up with your best strategy, but do not let the fear that you might be making a dangerous move paralyze you. Go ahead despite your fears.

Those who survive near death experiences many times soon forget what it feels like to fear dying. That is how they become fearless. That is how they exude confidence. That is how people become indomitable, daring, ambitious.

The fine look of boldness and courage you see on people who have achieved much in life didn’t come on a silver platter. Their personalities were molded, shaped through days of loneliness, hunger, dilemmas and betrayals and hard times. But whenever life hit them, they did fall sometimes, but they always rise, hit back and hit hard back at life.

Never stay down. Never give up. Fight. Even if you have to do so with your last drop of blood, last ounce of energy, last cent in your pocket shriveled with holes.
